Rainbow Heritage 

started in January 2008. It was initially sponsored for the first three years by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

It celebrates Nottinghamshire’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) lives, hidden history and culture.

Will organise events: exhibitions; displays; workshops and training. 

Many of the events coincide with either Nottingham Pride Festival (each July) and LGBT History Month (each February). Click HERE to see slide shows of our exhibitions, some of our work for LGBT history month and our involvement with many years of Pride.

Develop a Heritage Trail

Gather artefacts and memorabilia: photos, badges, flyers for events, newspaper cuttings, documents from social/support groups etc

Explore the site

The biggest section is under "Our Heritage". Here you will find local venues, groups, magazines - past and present ... newspaper cuttings ... quotes from interviews ... an LGBT timeline. (Many of the documents can be downloaded as pdfs.) Listen to audio clips. Add your own views and comments about things you see on the site.

QB, Nottinghamshire's bimonthly LGBT newsletter contains information about Nottinghamshire's Rainbow Heritage along with other news and articles. To see the latest edition of QB click on the button.
